European Regional Development Fund - ERDF

The ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) fund in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly is worth €438m and makes up 75% of our Programme allocation, it will help to support the EU and local ambitions for smart, sustainable, inclusive growth.

SME Support: call in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly

£10m of European funding available to develop workspace

Up to £10m has been made available through the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Programme to develop additional workspace to support Small and medium sized business growth in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.  The funding will be available for the next 18 months (up to 27th November 2017) and applications will be reviewed every six months; 27 May 2016, 27 November 2016 and 27 May 2017 (or until all of the funding has been allocated).


Priorities for investment will be through:

  • Increased levels of research and innovation to exploit new market opportunities and drive the commercialisation of new products and services.

  • Addressing the issues of climate change and supporting energy sustainability.

  • Increasing access to finance for small and medium sized enterprises to enable investment to drive growth.

  • A suite of business support products, including a single point of access to simplify the business support landscape.

  • Addressing underlying infrastructure issues, including transport and digital.

The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP)

The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP worked with local partners during 2013 and 2014 to develop the European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF) Strategy. This strategy sets out how the European funds will be used to meet local needs to drive economic growth and social inclusion.

All local investment must demonstrate their alignment to the local European Structural and Investment Fund (ESIF) Strategy. and the national ERDF Operational Programme .
