Newquay Airport - Treloy Waterfront Development Phase 1
Before commercial development could take place at the Treloy Waterfront Site, access issues had to be addressed.
The Newquay Airport Masterplan set out intentions to develop military land surrounding the airport which could then be used to support the commercial sustainability of the airport’s operations. Creating a new route allowing proposed workspace to be accessed was essential to the development of this area.
Security fencing put in place to enable the airport to achieve its Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) licence had effectively ‘landlocked’ the site with access to proposed new business developments and hangar facilities only possible across the runway or through security controlled crash gates.
This project was considered the first phase of the Treloy Waterfront Site developments and will enable further plans relating to the development of the Treloy Waterfront Site to proceed.
