Another year of growth for St Austell Printing Company

St Austell Printing Company has reported a year of further growth for its conference centre.

The £6.2m St Austell Business Park in Carclaze saw its conference centre bookings grow by 24 percent during 2015.

The conference centre manager, Beth Mayman, said: “The last 12 months we have really focussed on extending our offering, recognising that every client has different requirements and needs.

“Last year we invested heavily into brand new AV and video conferencing equipment after we received a number of enquiries from clients wanting to use our facilities to host video conferencing and meetings.

“This has resulted in developing a really solid and loyal client base countrywide.”

The printing company saw a 24% rise in delegates and a 14% increase in the number of events held at the conference centre.

The year ahead looks to be no different with their January 2016 turnover doubling in comparison to last year, making it their most successful month to date.

Beth added: “Bookings continue to come in thick and fast proving that’s it’s a service people want and need.

“Originally the conference centre was only an additional service, but we’ve now had to launch its own purpose built website after its success over the last two years.

“We saw 6163 delegates at 307 events held at the conference centre, consuming 18,000 biscuits and 24,000 cups of tea!

“We’ve hosted everything from bespoke workshops to product launches and full-scale training days, with one company booking our conference facility for 17 training events over 8 weeks.

“We’re really proud of our BREEAM Excellent rated building and we think it’s the ideal location to host any business event, the incredible views across Cornwall don’t hurt either.”

The Business Park was part-funded by Convergence and the European Regional Development Fund and has even starred as a backdrop in two Rosamunde Pilcher productions for German TV.
